I really enjoyed all of the projects that were presented today. It is difficult to pick a favorite and even more difficult to pick a least favorite. I really like Andrea's piece about her 48 hours spent in a frat house. I saw her yesterday and I was not sure what she had chosen to do. I thought maybe she was just being a tomboy. Her documentation really made it feel like a documentary. Her work reminded me of the work artist Nikki S. Lee does when she photographs herself in various social groups. It was funny how the guys didn't treat her like a girl at all. She seemed somewhat timid although she tried everything that they asked her to. It was funny because the guys actually liked being filmed. Her project seemed the most authentic to me. I am excited to see what Alex and Jonathan have in store for Thursday too. I thought there whole performance on Monday was hilarious.
If I had to pick a project that I think needed more work would be Sean's. I think his idea was interesting because it had to do with a local social phenomenon, "the can fairies." The only critique I have would be if he got better documentation. Perhaps he could have tried to speak with a few of the people he was imitating. He could have recorded himself acting the same way in which he described them such as sneaking up after he watched people throw away their cans and other recycling. I just think that more documentation could have improved the project and overall persona he was trying to convey.
