Sequence/Narrative Critique

While they are fresh in my memory, I figured I would discuss my favorite piece from today right now. I know I always say this but I really thought there were a lot of successful projects today. Although I though Erika's and Alex's were hilarious, I think that Amanda's was my favorite. When she said that her video was a very "rough-cut" I expected it to be just that. Although it was short and not completely finished, I felt that her video almost seemed like a preview for a new documentary on divorce or something. Just with the editing she had done so far as far as chopping up the images, including the names and ages of the children in the introduction, and overlaying the voice tracks, I could already see that the video will be successful. Her editing skills are apparent and I think that the serious subject matter contrasts nicely with the children performing everyday activities such as eating sandwiches or making funny faces. Something that I struggle with most in terms of art projects is editing them to make them seem more professional and less like an assignment. I hope that she can finish by the end of the week because I am excited to see the finished project.
