Work Progress

Sorry that this is not documented as I came up with my ideas, now I know for next time.

First Project- Puns:
I thought that this would be a lot more difficult then it turned out to be. Everybody was creative and had a lot of fun which made this assignment pretty enjoyable. I came up with a few ideas for puns and wrote them down in a list as follows:
-bury the hatchet
-slowpoke
-rain check
-check mate
-son of a gun
-home wrecker
-the buck stops here

I really wanted to do "bury the hatchet" but surprisingly no one I knew had a hatchet lying around. Soooo, I opted to do slowpoke and rain check. I really wanted to do slowpoke because I knew it would be funny but it did not require me bringing anything but myself so that is why I performed two. I'm really glad they worked out, especially the slowpoke pun. No one guessed it while I was doing it (because I guess I looked like I was pointing) but that made it even more funny. The rain check pun was guessed right away but I do not mind. I orded a ton of check that I need to get rid of anyway ;)

Class Exercise- Props:
Well these were the props we were given:
Yes, so very diverse. We went through various ideas like an alien safety kit, a road side safety kit, at one point we wanted to combine them all:
but in the end we came up with a man purse complete with manly accessories. I though we should maybe use the helmet in a different way other than wearing it on the head. It was fun to put things together and see how they worked. Coming up with a whole idea out of such random objects really made me think of the possibilities I never tend to delve into in regards to my art. While I want to be creative, I often end up over thinking most of my work which makes it too technical and in the end not a lot of fun. If I just start making it without thinking or planning at first the process and outcome could be much more inspired.
